I’ve been looking forward to reading more Cabot stories since I finished the first two over a year ago, and it did not disappoint. 

Daniel Cabot is a character study and a story about the gradual building of a relationship, filled with quiet moments that are both realistic and compelling. It always blows me away how Cat Sebastian can fit SO MUCH character development into so few pages. And you can always count on her to write incredibly unique, richly drawn people who you can’t help but fall in love with.

There is a foundation of kindness in this story, as there has been in the previous two Cabot novellas (or, really, ALL her books I suppose) that I find so beautiful and hopeful. Daniel and Alex take care of one another and others - friends and strangers both - in so many little ways and without wanting anything in return. It’s a refreshingly uncynical display of human decency that I absolutely love.

If you’ve read many of my other reviews, you know that one of my favorite things is when one character intuits the needs of another character and unhesitatingly provides those things, like Dev does for Charlie and his anxiety in The Charm Offensive. Here Daniel doesn’t question Alex’s autistic quirks; he accepts him as he is and doesn’t take his standoffishness or lack of social awareness personally. He loves who Alex is, the whole Alex and not *in spite of* his neurodivergent characteristics. 

▶️ Low angst, grumpy/sunshine, slow burn, spiceh spiceh love scenes, supportive friends and family, laugh out loud moments, two soft-hearted cinnamon roll MCs. All my favorite things. 🥰

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A+, massive hearteyes, ALL the stars.

Custom Funko Pop Tutorial

 I’ve had several requests for tips on how to make a custom Funko Pop so I thought I’d put together a step-by-step tutorial for anyone who’s interested. I’ll be using Simon & Baz as examples but just know they are rather advanced Pop-ery - not all pops are this complicated or difficult. But most of the info below is relevant to any custom pop you may want to make. Even if you're not making Simon & Baz, do read through the entire tutorial as there are relevant tips throughout. While reading A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske, I had some thoughts about the connections between their magic and the natural world.                     The magical world Marske’s created is wonderful. It’s like nothing I’ve ever read or seen before; it’s fantastical and creative but also… down to earth at the same time?
