Book Mail! A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland

Book Mail days are always exciting and this was an especially exciting delivery!  You may have seen my recent post on A Taste of Gold and Iron. It’s an amazing book and absolutely one of my favorite reads of the year. So of course I had to have a physical copy! I googled to see if there were any special editions coming out (as one does) and discovered a couple small UK companies offering one. But of course I’d missed the bus on both as they’d both been small runs and offered via presales several months earlier. So when my Booksta bestie Ditte informed me that Broken Bindings, one of the UK booksellers offering a special edition of ATOGAI, had received their stock and was putting up for sale the limited number of extra copies they had available after fulfilling the preorders, I considered it for a bit as it was slightly out of my budget but then I caved. And I was lucky enough to snag one! And I am so so glad I did. Broken Bindings’ edition is signed by the author (and a very cool ...

One last (small) Book Haul

Like a lot of people, I think, I really need to pull back on how many books I buy. I have this massive TBR pile that I desperately want to get through (why can’t I read 47 books at once??? 😭) and seriously need to stop adding to it already.  I still have a dozen or so preorders waiting on their release dates, scattered throughout 2022. And I recently signed up for Illumicrate’s two subscriptions: their regular monthly book box and their quarterly romance-centric sub, Afterlight. So I definitely have those to look forward to, like little Christmas gifts throughout the year. I won’t exactly be hard up for new books, whether they’re just new to me or new to everyone. So I’m going to try to be good and not seek out new books quite so much while I bulldoze my way through my TBR. And I’m going to try to be better about impulse purchases… like the ones below… 😬 I came across...

Carry On Waterstones Edition

Image
You guys. You GUYS. Did you see what's available to preorder RIGHT NOW?? UK bookseller Waterstones has made a beautiful sprayed edge version of Carry On to match the other two in the trilogy they sold previously. And like the other two, it's a very limited edition so go now if you want one! It's sooo pretty, I can't wait to see it in person. (You can see pics of all three editions below.) This edition will actually complete a third entire set of the trilogy for me. So I beg the publishers, please do not come out with anymore versions. Have mercy on my bookshelves and my bank account. I beg you.
